Since I'm traveling between Belgium and the USA, I want to show you my favorite places in these beautiful cities. In the blog 'My Vegas Must See List', you can find al my favorite places in Vegas. Today it's all about Los Angels.
LA got my heart and I met the coolest people ever! With miles of coastline, beautiful hills, palm trees, iconic food spots, and more, there’s a plethora of incredible places to take photos to post to Instagram.
One of L.A.'s most iconic landmarks, the Hollywood Sign overlooks Hollywood and is a popular destination for visitors and locals alike. A short hike away, the sign is one of the most famous photo destinations in the city.
Although hikers are no longer allowed to get up close photos near the famous Hollywood sign, there are many clear vantage points for a great selfie from most parts of Hollywood. The 45-foot-tall letters are set in the Hollywood Hills and can be seen from virtually anywhere in Hollywood by facing north.
Hollywood Blvd (The Walk of Fame)
The Hollywood Walk of Fame recognizes some of the most important figures in entertainment. Stars made of brass and terrazzo cover the sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street and honor creatives for accomplishment in motion pictures, television, music, radio, and theater. Visitors can often be found snapping pictures with their favorite stars for Instagram. On the Walk of Fame you can mostly find the main shopping chains such as H&M or Forever21 and a lot of souvenir shops.
Venice Beach & Santa Monica Beach
There is no more perfect setting for sexy selfies and enticing sixty-second video clips than the beaches of Southern California. Fortunately, the world-famous Venice Beach and Santa Monica Beach are direct neighbors and easily walkable, allowing you to utilize countless Instagrammable settings. After brunch in Venice, rent a couple bikes from one of the many vendors along the beach and head north to Santa Monica Pier. Its a beautiful ride and one of my favorite ways to explore the Venice boardwalk.
Southern California scenery doesn't get any edgier or eclectic than the oceanside environs of Venice Beach. Virtually every few feet of the bustling boardwalk of bohemian eccentricity and sun-kissed coolness offers a distinct and exciting setting that seems custom-made for Instagram, from the colorful walls of graffiti art located next to the skate park to the famous open-air Muscle Beach Gym.
The Venice sign is one of the top photo opportunities in Southern California. Use this sign as a backdrop to a group photo or let it add a bit of street credit to your selfie. For night shooting, the L.E.D. lit sign corresponds to holidays and special events. Whichever way you choose, make a major statement at Venice Beach’s defining feature.
Santa Monica Pier
The ending point of Route 66 and tourist hot spot, the Santa Monica Pier, established in 1909, offers lovely views of the Pacific Ocean. It was the first of its kind on the West Coast and nowadays, it’s still one of LA’s most popular places as well as a favorite fishing spot for locals. It’s been named one of the Top 10 Beach Cities in the World by National Geographic and with attractions like the Santa Monica Aquarium and Pacific Park amusement park - whose Ferris wheel is visible from a distance and is a spectacular shot when lit up after dark - this beloved part of LA will definitely keep you and your camera busy.
Capture sixty seconds of summer via Instagram video by bringing your camera with you as you ride the Santa Monica Pier's colorful carousel that has been featured in countless music videos. Or capture the sun setting on the Pacific Ocean from the unique vantage point of the top of the Ferris wheel. An old-school arcade is also on site to give your Instagram photos some retro flavor. The colorful, carnival-like setting of the Santa Monica Pier is so wonderfully vibrant that your Instagram filter may actually become insecure.
Rodeo Drive (Beverly Hills)
Nothing screams luxury like Rodeo Drive. Treat yourself to some retail therapy here and even if you can’t afford these designer goods, it’s a beautiful spot for a photo walk. Rodeo Drive is the most glamorous and expensive place to go shopping. Diamonds and sparkle from Chanel to Saint Laurent. Just window-shopping on this world-famous thoroughfare will satiate even the most demanding fashionista. Put on your finest threads and snap a few glamorous selfies in front of the artsy window displays of iconic shops like Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Herve Leger.
"Spanish Steps" at Two Rodeo Drive
Give your Instagram pics some continental flair with a few photos taken at the "Spanish Steps" at Two Rodeo Drive, where a gorgeous fountain, red-orange brick streets and Old World architecture will make you feel and look like you're strolling through Europe.
I highly recommend to go shopping here because! This is the most beautiful mall in LA! Their fountain and exterior is incredible, and it’s the perfect spot to walk around before dinner!
Hollywood Farmers' Market
Head here every Sunday morning and you've got an equal chance of spotting the perfect peach or a few of your favorite celebrities. Luckily, both look great in photos.
Another great shopping spot, Abbot Kinney in Venice is home to some of my favorite contemporary brands like Cuyana, rag & bone as well as a few perfectly curated boutiques and one of my favorite stationery stores, Urabanic.
And also one of my favorite spots to grab lunch on Abbot Kinney is Lemonade. The best lemonade in the world! I say yes to that + they have an amazing VEGAN MENU. Everything on the menu is super delicious! You’ve probably seen their very Instagrammable cups around the internet but their marketplace of fresh salads, sandwiches and desserts make it really worth the visit.
Drive around the area and you will find tons of streets that are lined in palm trees on both sides. Definitely a photo op not to be missed!
While in LA you need to visit Universal Studios and which place is more Instagram-worthy as this magical place! Take a picture with your favorite characters or go to the Harry Potter World to spot a Goblin!
The favorite spots for producers and photographer are the LA dry riverbeds you see in the movies, like in Grease. Who wouldn't want to take a picture on this place!
There is more beautiful places in the City of Angels that I still need to see!
What are your favorite spots in Los Angeles, let me know!
