Best looks at the Oscars 2018

ALL eyes were on the red carpet on Sunday as the biggest names in film descended on Hollywood for the 90th Academy Awards. Hosted by late-night US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, the prestigious ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in the heart of La La Land.

While not everyone could scoop a coveted gong, when it came to dressing for the occasion, these glamorous stars were definitely winners.

#1 Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence sparkled in a metallic Dior gown. The gold elements from the design popped as Lawrence presented the award for best actor to Gary Oldman with Jodie Foster. The Red Sparrow star styled her blonde tresses into glamorous curls and rocked bold winged eye liner. She wore Roger Vivier heels and Niwaka jewelery.

#2 Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman wowed and brought some color to the red carpet in a blue Armani Privé complete with a statement bow and thigh-high slit. 

#3 Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock made her return to the Oscars red carpet in an ombré Louis Vuitton black and gold dress that paired well with her matching clutch. The halter neckline, pin-straight hair, and smokey eye makeup completed her look. 

#4 Gal Gadot

Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot turned heads in a Givenchy silver, shimmery dress. Gal rocked a berry red lip, a glittering aquamarine and diamond Tiffany & Co and studded earrings.

#5 Eiza Gonzalez

Another actress who added a pop of color to the red carpet. “Baby Driver” Mexican beauty Eiza Gonzalez turned heads in a yellow halter neck Ralph Lauren gown. Eiza's summer-ready gown featured some daring cut-outs at the side.

#6 Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie was white hot in a chic ivory floor-skimming Chanel Haute Couture gown with beaded off-the-shoulder straps connecting at the bodice. She said: “I can’t believe I’m wearing a Haute Couture dress made for me by Karl Lagerfeld, It’s a fantasy. I feel like myself but still as glamorous as I’ve ever dreamed I would at the Oscars." Margot kept her make-up simple and wore star-shaped diamond stud earrings.

#7 Zendaya

Zendaya always experiments with her style on red carpets, and the Oscars was no exception. She stunned in a chocolate, one-sleeved Giambattista Valli Couture gown. 

#8 Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman must have coordinated with Lupita Nyong’o, because he also looked ready for a coronation. The “Black Panther” star commanded the red carpet in an all-black Givenchy ensemble with a jacket fit for king. 

#9 Saoirse Ronan

Saoirse Ronan perfectly represented pretty in pink in a Calvin Klein by Appointment satin dress and matching pointed shoes. The gown features an exaggerated bow in the back and the strapless neckline showed off Ronan’s new bob haircut. 

#10 Lupita Nyong’o

Never one to disappoint with her red carpet looks, Lupita Nyong’o arrived at the Oscars in a gown fit for a Wakandan queen. The “Black Panther” star wore a glittered in one-shoulder gold Atelier Versace dress with a daring thigh-high split and had gold threaded through her hair, Alexandre Birman shoes, Niwaka jewelry, and a Versace bag.

#11 Allison Janney

The lady in red. Best supporting actress winner Allison Janney was dazzling in a red Reem Acra with a plunging neckline and floor-length sleeves. Allison wore a glittering diamond necklace and carried a scarlet clutch bag.

#12 Allison Williams

Girls actress Allison Williams brought old Hollywood glamour back in a dreamy blush pink, beaded Armani Privé gown. Her look was finished with classic, wavy hairstyle.

#13 Gina Rodriguez

Gina Rodriguez never plays it safe on a red carpet. Her dress fell in line with the nude trend, but Rodriguez switched things up with Zuhair Murad design featuring a belted waist, a deep-V neckline, and show stopping train. 

#14 Daniel Kaluuya

“Get Out” star and best actor nominee Daniel Kaluuya wore a bold golden suit jacket on the red carpet. 

#15 Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner, who introduced Eddie Vedder for the in memoriam segment of the Oscars, dazzled in a royal blue cobalt Atelier Versace gown with a sweeping train, Versace shoes and Piaget jewelery. Jennifer completed her Grecian-inspired ensemble with two rings.

#16 Laura Dern

Laura Dern was an ice queen in a white Calvin Klein by Appointment one-shoulder dress. She kept her jewelry minimal and had her hair swept in effortless curls.

#17 Mary J. Blige

Before taking the stage to sing her Oscar-nominated song from“Mudbound,” Mary J. Blige glided down the red carpet in a custom Atelier Versace dress. She continued the sparkly theme in her white, beaded gown that had a hidden thigh slit. 

#18 Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda stood out from the other actresses who walked the red carpet with her flawless all white, sleeved Balmain gown and Time’s Up pin

#19 Betty Gabriel

Fellow “Get Out” star Betty Gabriel also wore a unique design to the Oscars in a Tony Ward creation with a plunging neckline, floral elements, and a sheer train. 

#20 Tiffany Haddish

Tiffany Haddish paid tribute to her father and her Eritrean roots in a traditional dress called a zuria, worn by women in Eritrea and Ethiopia. Haddish’s father is Eritrean and told her before he died recently to honor her people if she ever made it to the Oscars, the actress said. She wore a full-length cream satin dress, with golden embroidery, and a matching black jacket. Her hair was styled in a bouffant bun, with a gold headpiece adorning her forehead.

#21 Viola Davis

Viola Davis had a major pink moment in her hot pink Michael Kors gown, paired with a matching clutch and hoop earring. Viola Davis looked sensational in a hot pink strappy dress and matching clutch.
